Black Sesame Buns
Recipe from here
Ingredients (this is a double batch from original)
Bread flour 500g
Castor sugar 50g
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Instant dry yeast 8g
Milk powder 20g
Lukewarm water 320g
Unsalted butter 20g
Black sesame seeds 40g ( I used seeds in coarse form)
To decorate
Egg white ( for egg wash)
Black sesame seeds ( for the topping)
Methods ( slight modification)
Mix all ingredients into a rough dough, last add in the seeds and butter.
Continue to knead until dough become glossy and smooth.
Cover and let it rise for an hour or until it has doubled it's size.
Divide into 12 equal portions, roll into balls, brush with egg wash ( using whites), sprinkle with seeds, cover and let it rise on the baking tray with parchment paper( about 30 minutes).
Bake at preheated oven of 190C for about 18 minutes. ( I had a pan with hot boiling water throughout the baking session.
