My daugther made these cute gingerbread people for her friends in Christmas :)
Recipe from: Women's Weekly Magazine
Ingredients:
125g butter
100g firm packed brown sugar
1 egg yolk
375g plain flour
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
3 teaspoons ground ginger
125ml golden syrup
Royal Icing
1 egg white
240g pure icing sugar, approximately
food colourings
roll dough between sheets of baking paper until 3mm thick. |

Method
1. Beat butter, sugar and yolk in small bowl with electric mixer until smooth. Stir in sifted dry ingredients and golden syrup, mix to a soft dough. Knead gently on lightly floured surface until smooth. Roll dough between sheets of baking paper until 3mm thick.
2. With 3cm apart on greased oven trays, bake them in 180C about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on trays. Spoon icing into piping bag fitted with a small plai tube, decorate shapes as desired.
3. For Royal Icing: Beat egg white in a small bowl with mixer until frothy, gradually beat in enough sifted icing sugar to give a mixture of piping consisitency. Colour as desired. Kepp royal icing cobered with damp cloth to prevent drying out.
